My works are influenced by lots of things, ranging from human figures to music videos, fashion trends, and the way of life around me. I assimilate all these and come up with interpretations through my assemblage. I have a technical background in drawing, graphics, welding, and metal fabrication. This has been a major aid in my creative process. In my works, the artistic concern focuses on issues affecting our daily lives and the events within my society that I seek to remodel. My aim is not to reproduce what I see, but to give form to the vibrations emanating from my society. My work process starts with sketches of lines on the floor, then I trace them out by bending metal rods along the sketch to create shapes in two-dimensional forms, sometimes it is later developed into a relief sculpture or three-dimensional piece. The works I create are assembled through spot-welding, a merger of metal plates, rods, and found objects which often consist of household equipment and discarded relics that I adapt and re-invent. Sometimes I create textures in my works by spraying paints and adding sawdust to the surface. The sawdust provides a textured feel, and it serves as a canvas to introduce various shades of colors through a process called highlights. The methods and materials that I explore are a thought-through process when I create. I undergo continuous research by experimenting with new media to express myself and break away from my habitual aesthetics.
